We regret you to announce that the Art Fair Sculpture Highlights
Maastricht 2009 will not go through, this without our consent but as
result of the bad economic situation.
Many important participants have cancelled their participation in the
current economic climate because of that reason, so the good level of
the fair gets in among the crowd, which would risk the success.
We hope to be able to re-launch the fair in 2010.
A specialized and innovative art and antiques fair.
As the name indicates this is an exclusive international sculpture event,
presenting a select number of works of art, from antiquities to contemporary sculptures,
by renowned art dealers from all over the world.
Each dealer is an authority in his or her own discipline.
The fair is presented in the unique setting of ‘La Bonbonnière’ in Maastricht,
the oldest theatre in the Netherlands. Located near the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw plein,
there is plenty of parking space within walking distance.
The theatre ‘La Bonbonnière’ is in heart of the historic centre
of this 2000-year-old Roman city.
The fair attracted yet from the start an interested audience with a great purchasing power, who were very impressed with the exceptional quality of the artwork offered at this unique event.
So wrote e.g. the art & antiques journalist Gerhard Charles Rump in the German important daily newspaper 'Die Welt': "Maastricht sollte sich glücklich schätzen, so ein hübsches Juwel in seinem Mauern zu beherbergen".
Maastrichts renowned museums, other existing international art and cultural events such as TEFAF, the city's gastronomic
delights, will contribute to the ideal atmosphere for visiting the 3rd Art Fair Sculpture Highlights.
